Challenge 
Client Challenge
The beauty industry faced a critical hurdle: the target audience was visiting salons less frequently and spending less on colour treatments. This decline in customer visits led to salons being hesitant to purchase or trial new colour shades from the business. Without salon buy-in, expanding the colour portfolio was challenging. Additionally, the initiative had an accelerated timeline — it needed to be conceptualized, developed, and launched within two weeks, compared to the usual 4-5 weeks, putting extra pressure on the creative and execution teams
 
Strategic Approach
Understanding the need to break down barriers for both salons and customers, our strategy focused on creating a low-risk, high-value service that could quickly attract clients and encourage salons to trial new colour shades.
The No Strings Attached Colour Service was conceived as a semi-permanent, premium colour treatment that required minimal commitment from clients, making it attractive for those hesitant to invest in a full colour service. This service acted as a gateway for customers to experience new colour trends and for salons to showcase their capabilities without the risk of stocking large quantities of new shades.

 

Create a look Card

A look card was created, outlining how each style was achieved, with clear step-by-step instructions and a detailed list of the products used, ensuring salons had a professional reference to replicate the looks accurately.

The detailed A4 one-pager detailing how each look was created, including step-by-step breakdowns and the specific products used, giving salons a clear, practical guide to replicate the styles with confidence.

Creative Execution

Visual Identity: I developed fresh, vibrant branding to reflect the quick, approachable nature of the service, appealing to a broad demographic while aligning with the premium quality of the product. Promotional Materials: Designed eye-catching leaflets and double-sided Print materials with clear messaging, benefits, and calls to action, distributed both in salons and at targeted events. Digital Campaign: Produced a high-energy campaign video optimised for YouTube and Instagram, focusing on the ease and appeal of the new colour service. The video showcased real salon environments, happy clients, and highlighted the semi-permanent nature of the colour, reinforcing the low-commitment message.

Results  

Salon Adoption: Over 400 salons enthusiastically introduced the new service, indicating strong buy-in and confidence in the offering. Revenue Growth: The initiative generated over £20,000 in new business during the first week alone, surpassing initial projections. Digital Engagement: The online campaign achieved a 15% increase in engagement on social media platforms within the first week, driving awareness and interest beyond traditional salon visitors. Customer Feedback: Early feedback highlighted customer appreciation for the flexibility and quality of the semi-permanent colour, with many citing it as an ideal solution for experimenting with new looks without long-term commitment.

A2 Poster

As part of the launch, we developed two striking key visuals that captured the essence of the“No Strings Attached” collection, subtle, affordable, and approachable.

 

These visuals were adapted into A2 posters to be strategically placed in high-traffic salons areas to instantly attract attention, spark curiosity, and communicate the

low-commitment, premium nature of the service.

The posters worked as aspirational brand statement, encouraging clients to try the new colour offering.

Campaign Video  

To amplify the launch, As a team we produced a

high-energy No Strings Attached campaign video that brought the service to life. Highlighting its quick,

low-commitment appeal and premium results.

The content was strategically deployed across YouTube and Instagram, leveraging targeted placements to reach

style-conscious audiences and existing salon clients.

 

This approach not only drove awareness but also generated immediate engagement, reinforcing the campaign’s message and prompting action.
